DAY SKIPPER COURSE (Practical)

This course is aimed at those who wish to start skippering on their own  or to be able to help experienced skippers.  Charter companies usually require Day Skipper as the minimum standard required of potential charterers.  You are automatically entitled to an ICC (International Certificate for Operators of Pleasure Craft – see more at RYA website here) to charter abroad if you hold Day Skipper or above.

Pre-Course experience:

5 days, 100 miles, 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht.

Assumed knowledge:

Theory to the level of Day Skipper. It is recommended you attend the Day Skipper shore based course beforehand.

Minimum duration:

5 days, 3 weekends or 3 days plus 2 days

Minimum age:

16
